Norwood, March 7: At the Republican caucus held in Music hall Tuesday evening Frank Jenkins was nominated for village president to succeed E. E. Wright, who has acted for the past two years, R. D. Reed to succeed Frank Jenkins as trustee and A. C. Healy to succeed himself as trustee.
C. R. Nims, a local grocer, was arrested Sunday by Troopers Holcomb and Morrissy charged with violating section 485 of the penal law. He was arraigned before Justice Fletcher, adjudged guilty and fined $10, which he paid. The offense charged was the sale of cigarettes to minors.
The boys basket ball team from Norfolk came here Friday night and played the home boys. The visiting team were defeated by a score of 52 and 18. The Norfolk girls were defeated by a score of 45 and 5. The local girls went to Colton Saturday and played the High School girls at that place. The score was 15 and 20 in favor of the local girls.
Mrs. John Quinn and Miss Margaret Sullivan have been passing a few days with Mr. and Mrs. F. J. O'Brien in Syracuse.
Mrs. M. D. Bennett visited friends in Ogdensburg Tuesday.
W.T. Leonard returned home Tuesday from a business trip to Syracuse and New York.
Mrs. B.J. Simonds and son, Donald, of Plumbrook visited Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Simonds last week.
Mrs. S. McArthur, daughter Nerine and son, Lloyd of Watertown visited Mrs. E. M. Mott and other friends Tuesday.
The Junior Class of Norwood High School had a meeting Wednesday night to arrange for the Junior "prom".
Mrs. John Valois returned from the Hepburn Hospital at Ogdensburg Wednesday where she had been for the last month.
Frank Frenette has left the store of William D. Fuller and has accepted a position as clerk in a clothing store with his brother, Edward Frenette at Tupper Lake. Arch Royce has accepted the position in W. D. Fuller's store.
