Norwood in 1921 From the June 22, 1921 Courier & Freeman:
The fire company was called out early Tuesday morning to the blacksmith shop on Mechanic Street conducted by James Creighton. With the aid of chemicals, they soon had the fire under control, the damage being slight.

Following is the list of teachers who will compose the faculty of Norwood High school for the coming school year: Principal, R.C. Thomas; High School, Miss E. Boyden, Miss M.L. Costello, Miss G. I. Gray, Miss D. B. Laird, physical education: Miss R. McCoy, commercial course; Miss M. Cranston, grade 8; Miss C. O. Judson, grade 7; Mrs. E. Snow, grade 6; Miss Mary McGinnis, grade 5; Miss Minnie L. Benson, grade 4; Miss Marion Bartlett, grade 3; Miss Frances McCormick, grade 2; Miss Frances McNulty, grades 1-A; Miss Lucia Yale, grades 1-B; Mrs. Belle P. Barnard, music. One High school teacher has not as yet been engaged. This is the only vacancy in the list of teachers who will teach next fall.
From the Dec. 21, 1921 Potsdam Courier & Freeman:
Norwood, Dec. 21-Miss Caroline L. Sumner of this village, who has given to the music-loving public many beautiful songs, has received copies of "Trifles," one of her latest songs, just published by Enoch & Sons, New York. Miss Sumner wrote the lyric of "Trifles" and the music is by Frank H. Grey.
Miss Sumner wrote the music to "The Golden Long ago," and both the words and music of "By Thy Abiding Power." She also wrote the words and music for "Smile On!" All of these songs are enjoying great popularity, especially "Smile On!" Among the concert artists singing this song is Elsie Baker. It is published by the Thompson Music company of Boston, Mass.
The Norwood High school basketball team defeated the Waddington High school team in a thrilling contest here Friday on the school court by a score of 44 to 12. The battle was on of the best ever seen in this village, and was witnessed by the largest crowd in the history of the pastime here. The locals were in rare form and took advantage of their lead to run away from their opponents. Wilber was the star for the locals, caging seven field baskets.
The Waddington High School girls team played the High School girls of this village. One of the visiting girls sprained her ankle and the game was not finished. Up to the time of the accident the score was 5 to 1 in favor of the Norwood girls. A special train came from Waddington to accommodate all those who wished to attend the games.
From the Dec. 28, 1921 Courier & Freeman:
A special election for the village will be held tomorrow for the purpose of voting on a proposition to raise $3,500 for the pumping system. It is proposed to buy an electrically driven pump and electric motor for it and install it in the pumping station, payment to be made by a bond issue with five percent interest. The bonds would be retired in seven equal annual installments. The election will be in the Music Hall from 1 to 5:30 o'clock.
