1907--Norwood Baseball

From the Thursday, June 6, 1907 Ogdensburg Advance

The Norwood High School and Ogdensburg (St. Mary's Academy) teams played a game of ball here Thursday afternoon. There was a good and enthusiastic crowd and appeared to enjoy the game hugely. A little incident occurred in connection with this game that stirred up the ire of many Norwood boys, and that the demand of the visiting team that they be paid before the game commenced. We think this was uncalled for, as our baseball teams have the backing of Norwood people and always pay what they agree to. This score was 11 to 9 in favor of Norwood.

(From the Friday, July 26, 1907 Potsdam Herald-Recorder--

An exciting game of ball was played on the Norwood park Tuesday afternoon, between two local clubs, one known as the Main Street Nine and the other as Mechanic Street Team. The prize was a supper, to be paid for by the defeated team. The game was hotly contested from the beginning and the score was 18 to 14 in favor of the Main street nine, at the end of the tenth inning.
