Norwood

 

Cards are out announcing the marriage of Miss Alice M. Ashley of this place, and Stephen S. Patten, of Augusta, Maine, which is to take place at the Congregational Church, Norwood, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28 at 3 o'clock.

Mr. Henry Currier, of Norwood, who has spent the past five years in the Klondike, is now at Hot Springs and is expected home in two weeks. It will be apt to take him nearly that length of time to get thawed out and limbered up, so as to make the rest of the trip; that is why he is stopping at Hot Springs.

Mr. Moses Emery, of Boston, Mass., has been spending a few weeks in Norwood and vicinity, visiting friends and relatives, and expects to return to Boston Friday.

Mrs. F. G. Partridge has sold her home on Spring St., to Chas. H. Martin, the Editor of the Norwood News, and has moved into the old Ashley Homestead, on Park St. Mr. Martin is having the house newly papered and painted, and expects to move right in.

Mr. Charles Miner of this place died Tuesday morning at three o'clock he has been very sick ever since August 8th, with lung trouble. Funeral on Thursday.

Mr. P. E. Nichols, of Norwood, was one of the Ushers at the Russell-Merine wedding at Winthrop the evening of October 7th.

Mrs. Mary Hall, and Mrs. C. Williams left last Thursday for Syracuse for a five days visit with their sister, Mrs. Thomas Rexford and other relatives.
