The residents of Norwood are considerable excited over the repeated attempts which have been made of late by unknown persons to burn a business block in that village. A nearly successful attempt was made on Saturday evening and the authorities now offer a reward of $300 for the arrest and conviction of the guilty ones. The News gives the following particulars: The third dastardly attempt to burn the Ducolin-Holbrook block was made last Saturday evening, the fire being discovered about 12:30. The fire company responded quickly, and soon had the fire once more under control This time the fiend who started the fire gained admittance through the front basement door by prying the latch and fastenings away. The fire was kindled under the stairway between the two stores. A lot of window blinds, sashes, etc., had been stored there, and the fire kindled among these. This would have been a very stubborn fire to subdue had it not been discovered early. Rescue Fire Company's hose had been cut, entrance having been gained to the engine house by drawing the staple in the door.
