The Norwood Library began operation on September
17, 1912, at which time it was located over the Norwood Bakery on
main street. A fire severely damaged this location on February 8,
1920, and of the 1000 books which belonged to the library at that
time, only the 200 books in circulation were saved. The community
and other libraries worked together and soon had the library back
in operation.
The library has been an important part of Norwood
for 86 years!
The Norwood Library is located at the corner of North
Main Street and Morton Street. It is a modern building built in 1984
and is handicapped accessible, has free parking and a 12 person meeting

and subscribes to approximately fifty magazines. The Library is associated
with the North Country Library System and has inter-library loan capability.

The library is totally computer automated. These
